The cavalry long shanked bit was most commonly used in the cavalry mounted armed forces, it is an S cheek that sweeps back behind the mouth allowing for balance and discourages a horse from lipping or bitting the shank.
Mouthpiece: Light severity, three piece mouth with 3/8″ inlayed copper bars, 1 1/2″ copper wrapped dog-bone center. This is a nice mouth piece to reach the outside pressure points of the bars, and being a three piece mouth it allows for tongue relief. Has inlayed copper bars.
